Hummingbird Music School was founded in 2015 by Francesca Draughon, who also serves as the founder. The leadership team includes Todd S. as the manager. The camp's mission is to give flight to the next generation of musicians by offering quality music education. Francesca Draughon was appointed Arts Commissioner of Redwood City in 2022. The staff includes experienced educators with diverse credentials, such as Francesca Draughon, Ph.D. in Musicology from UCLA, and Todd S., who studied music performance at Foothill College and jazz composition at Berklee College of Music.
