Romulo Melo Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu offers Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and traditional Gracie Jiu-Jitsu classes, including Gi and No Gi training. The program also includes a No Gi Class and an Open Mat Gi & No Gi session for members only.
• Ages: 4–18 years old
• Schedule: Classes are offered Monday through Saturday, with options in the morning, midday, and evening, and a free private 30-minute introductory class is available for those new to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
Chief instructor Romulo Melo leads the program and trained directly under Vinicius Aieta and Royler Gracie at the Gracie Academy, Gracie Humaita in Rio de Janeiro, and at the Gracie Tijuca academy. He began to study Physical Education, started his career in fitness as a personal trainer, and later received a job offer as an instructor from Charles Gracie. Romulo Melo has 4–0 professional MMA wins from 2007–2010. Romulo Melo Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu states that it practices and teaches traditional Gracie Jiu-Jitsu for fitness, competition, and self-defense, and that Romulo adheres to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu as a complete way of life and works to create and maintain a family environment and safe place for students of all ages to learn. The academy accepts students with ages ranging from 4 to over 70 and offers group lessons for those who have trained before and are interested in trying the academy.
The program lists many competition results for Romulo Melo, including 1st Place at the Worlds Gi Championship (IBJJF) 2002, 3rd Place at the World Gi Championship (IBJJF) 2003, 2nd Place at the World No-Gi Championship (IBJJF) 2007, 3rd Place at the PanAms Championship (IBJJF) 2007, 1st Place at the World No-Gi Championship (IBJJF) 2016, and multiple titles at International Open events and Fight to Win Pro events between 2013 and 2023.
