Romulo Melo Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu offers Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and traditional Gracie Jiu-Jitsu classes, including both Gi and No Gi training. The program also includes a No Gi Class and an Open Mat Gi & No Gi session for members. New students can take a free private 30-minute introductory class or sign up for a group lesson if they have trained before.

Chief instructor Romulo Melo trained directly under Vinicius Aieta and Royler Gracie at the Gracie Academy, Gracie Humaita in Rio de Janeiro, and at the Gracie Tijuca academy. He began to study Physical Education at age 18 and started his fitness career as a personal trainer while in college. Romulo Melo Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practices and teaches traditional Gracie Jiu-Jitsu for fitness, competition, and self-defense, with programs and classes that welcome students of all ages from complete beginners to accomplished martial arts competitors, and students’ ages range from 4 to over 70. The program emphasizes mutual respect, honor, discipline, and camaraderie, and Romulo adheres to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu as a complete way of life, not just a martial art or a sport.
Romulo Melo has earned multiple competition results, including 1st Place at the Worlds Gi Championship (IBJJF) 2002, 3rd Place at the World Gi Championship (IBJJF) 2003, 2nd Place and 1st Place at the World No-Gi Championship (IBJJF) in 2007 and 2016, and 3rd Place at the PanAms Championship (IBJJF) 2007. His record also includes titles such as 1st Place – American National Championship 2021, 1st Place – World No-Gi Championship (IBJJF) 2016, multiple International Open gold medals between 2015 and 2023, several Fight to Win Pro titles, and a 4-0 professional MMA record from 2007–2010.
