Korean Martial Arts Center (KMAC) offers a range of martial arts classes, including Tiny Tigers, Jr Dragons / Dragons Kids Taekwondo, Taekwondo, Adult Taekwondo – Hapkido, Hapkido, Tai Chi, Kardio Kickboxing, and a children’s Judo program. The program also offers private lessons and has had an adult program at San Francisco City College.

KMAC has used the phrase “Flexible Strong Humble – Since 1983.” The mission statement for KMAC states that it welcomes everyone who is interested in martial arts, from beginners to masters and established schools, and that it is passionate about helping participants achieve their goals and reach the pinnacle of their potential. KMAC offers personalized programs tailored to specific needs and guidance toward official certification at Kukkiwon (WTF Korea) or Sin Moo Hapkido.

Grandmaster Larry Dorsey is a 9th dan black belt and has been a past instructor of Hapkido at KMAC’s headquarters in San Francisco; he formerly played professional football for the NFL’s New England Patriots and is a law enforcement officer in San Francisco. Ramon Tirona has been the chief instructor at KMAC’s past school location in San Leandro, California, is one of KMAC’s head coaches for Olympic Style Taekwondo, has practiced Taekwondo for more than twenty years, formerly ran his own martial arts school in Alameda, California, and is a Master in Taekwondo and a former technical advisor for the California State Taekwondo Association. Bernadette Reyes has taught adult Taekwondo at KMAC’s headquarters in San Francisco, began Taekwondo training in the mid 1990s, is a certified black belt instructor in Taekwondo, and has also trained extensively in Hapkido. Jo-An Aguirre is a registered nurse, has taught Kardio Kickboxing classes at KMAC’s headquarters in San Francisco, holds a black belt in Taekwondo, has trained in Hapkido and Tai Chi, and frequently donates her time to serve on the medical staff at Taekwondo competitions.

Mike Robertson has practiced martial arts for more than thirty years, training in Judo, Jujutsu, Taekwondo, and Hapkido, holds black belts in several martial arts, and received his Judo certification from the U.S. Judo Association. Robert Yee is the former chief instructor at KMAC’s program at the YMCA in downtown San Francisco, began his martial arts training in 1974 in several styles including hard-style Okinawan Karate and Aikido, began training in Hapkido under Master M.W. Jung in 1984, is a certified black belt instructor in Hapkido, and is the current Vice President of the World Martial Arts Union. Samir Golubovic holds a black belt in Judo, has been practicing Judo for over four years, is a frequent and accomplished competitor at local tournaments, is a qualified regional Judo referee, formerly taught the children’s Judo program at KMAC, and was a guest instructor for the adult program at San Francisco City College.

KMAC notes that its experienced masters have the knowledge and expertise to guide students toward official certification at Kukkiwon (WTF Korea) or Sin Moo Hapkido. Brandon Mauricio won the 2000 National Junior Olympic Taekwondo Championship, and Cody, the son of Jo-An Aguirre, also won the National Junior Olympic Taekwondo Championship in 2000.
