About
Messy Art Lab Camps offers hands-on, creative days where children use paint, clay, collage, and sensory art. The program takes place in a process-oriented children's art studio that puts creative exploration and sensory engagement first. Camp days focus on kids getting to explore, experiment, and make a happy mess through these art activities.

Messy Art Lab Camps is part of an award-winning process-oriented children's art studio that puts creative exploration and sensory engagement first. Its mission states that the program is designed to provide children with an enjoyable and memorable art experience and emphasizes exploration, imagination, and creativity while developing motor, cognitive, and social skills. The leadership team includes founder and educator Yoissy Thomas, who is an artist and educator with expertise in Process Art and the Reggio Emilia approach; Betty, described as a toddler's rock star and camp master; Ximena, Operations Manager and Camp Teacher; and Delia, Event and Open Studio wizard. The studio has won the Bay Area Parent Best of the Best Awards, which are purely reader- and voter-driven, and BayAreaParent does not nominate or recommend businesses for voting. One parent, Rachel H. from San Francisco, shared that a joint birthday party for 4- and 6-year-olds at the studio was wonderful, with fun activities and constant engagement, and noted that teachers were extra kind and helped a child who felt overwhelmed warm up and have a great time.
