Amabile School of Music has been established since 2008 and has a proven track record of offering quality lessons since 2008, with a second location in Moraga established in January 2020. The school has over 30 instructors, all with either university diplomas and professional performance experiences. The director is founder Teresa Yu, a pianist, parent, and educator. The mission of Amabile School of Music, as stated by the director, is to create a well-rounded musical environment where children and adults can freely explore their musical curiosities, impart a deep appreciation of music as an art, and introduce the joy of making music to all who enter its doors.

The program offers one-on-one lessons with a dedicated music teacher focusing on technique, note reading, rhythm, musical expression, music theory, development of a home practice routine, and preparation for performance or exam opportunities. Tuition is month-to-month with no semester minimum, and all lesson spots are prepaid to reserve. Students are offered at least four recital opportunities every year, including fun and festive recitals such as Halloween, Easter, Lunar New Year, Valentine’s Day, and back-to-school recitals. New students receive Practice Assignment Booklets and can participate in a Sticker Reward System to collect and redeem prizes, and periodic evaluation tests allow students to earn certificates, medals, and rewards. The school also offers a referral program with raffles for prizes such as concert tickets, an iPad, an iWatch and more, plus a small token of appreciation. Professional office staff are available seven days a week, and observation windows are provided in every practice room, with safety precautions followed at both school facilities. Little Mozart Keyboard Group Classes are offered in-person and online at both campuses, and students age 4 through adults are welcomed to join the music program any time throughout the year. Trial lessons are offered before enrolling, booked separately from official enrollment, and require 24-hour prior notice to reschedule.

Amabile School of Music has been voted one of the Best Music Programs in San Francisco and Moraga, California, and has won the Top 3 Best Music Programs in San Francisco for three years in a row. The program offers popular instrumental lessons serving the Sunset Parkside District including inner and outer sunset, and the Lamorinda areas including Lafayette, Orinda, and Moraga. One parent testimonial from Jo T. in the Sunset Parkside District of San Francisco describes the staff and teachers as amazing, notes adult piano study with the founder and later with Dr. Dulais, and mentions that both of the parent’s children studied piano with violin or clarinet at Amabile for years and later became active leaders in their school’s advanced band and advanced orchestra.
