San Francisco Ballet School offers pre-ballet and classical ballet training. The program includes a path from foundational training to pre-professional programs for dancers at different levels. From pre-ballet to company-ready, San Francisco Ballet School trains the next generation of artists and welcomes dancers of all ages to discover the joy of movement.
Founded in 1933, San Francisco Ballet School remains the oldest professional ballet school in the country and one of the most respected worldwide. The School is the training ground for the next generation of artists and leaders in dance, guided by faculty who have danced with the world’s foremost companies. Its dual mission is to train classical ballet dancers capable of joining a professional company and to offer all ages and levels the love of dance. The leadership team includes Grace Holmes as School Director, Tamara Rojo as Artistic Director, and Jasmine Yep Huynh as Director of Education. San Francisco Ballet’s community engagement programs include scholarships and community access and have a stated commitment to excellence, while the School prepares dancers for professional careers and also cultivates creativity and discipline.
