About
San Francisco Rock Project offers 1:1 lessons and group sessions in music, including guitar, bass guitar, piano, keyboard, drums, percussion, vocals, and ukulele. The program also includes music theory, notation, audio production, and songwriting lessons, as well as summer camps, recording at Rock Project, and live performances at real events and venues. It features an original songwriting program and the Golden Gate Rockers group for 7–10 year olds.

San Francisco Rock Project is a 501(c)3 nonprofit music school and an equal opportunity employer with an anti-discrimination policy that accepts students of all races, ethnicities, gender orientations, and economic backgrounds. Instrument lessons are available in person or virtually, and members have access to a video lesson archive and weekly music learning resources delivered to their inbox. The program offers pre-recorded private video lessons as an optional delivery method, recording studio time, and a lending library available upon request. It maintains a Bandcamp page with past summer camp and other recordings, has 10th Anniversary commemorative merchandise, and has had a season dedicated to Arctic Monkeys. The SF Rock Project has provided Bay Area youth with music education and live performance opportunities since the summer of 2010, and its mission states that it is dedicated to instilling confidence, inspiring creativity, and celebrating collaboration in a dynamic and supportive environment. The program has a 3rd Thursday Residency at Bay View Boat Club, prints all merchandise locally with Babylon Burning, and is supported by the Ray Hamilton Memorial Fund.
