About
San Francisco Rock Project offers music lessons that include 1:1 lessons, group band lessons, summer camps, and a youth band competition, along with live performances at real events and venues. The program provides guitar, bass guitar, piano, keyboard, drums, percussion, vocals, and ukulele lessons, as well as music theory and notation instruction, audio production instruction, songwriting instruction, and studio recording at Rock Project. Members also receive access to a video lesson archive, weekly music learning resources, pre-recorded private video lessons, and private online instrument instruction.
• Ages: 7–18 years old
• Schedule: Private online instrument instruction is available Monday through Friday and on Saturdays, with Fall 2022 hours on Wednesday 3pm–6pm, Friday 3pm–7pm, Saturday 11am–6:30pm, and additional times by appointment on Thursday and Sunday–Tuesday.

San Francisco Rock Project has provided Bay Area youth with music education and live performance opportunities since the summer of 2010. It is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization with a stated mission of instilling confidence, inspiring creativity, and celebrating collaboration in a dynamic and supportive environment. The program is always enrolling, is an equal opportunity employer, and accepts students of all races, ethnicities, gender orientations, and economic backgrounds.
San Francisco Rock Project is a 501(c)3 non-profit music school. It offers instrument lessons in person or virtually, a Lending Library available upon request, and studio time for recording at Rock Project, with recordings including past summer camp sessions available on BandCamp. Merchandise is screen-printed locally by partners Babylon Burning, with a local, socially distanced pick-up option after the stay-at-home order is lifted.
Some former San Francisco Rock Project alums perform at The Independent Theater in a benefit where $2 per ticket sale goes directly to San Francisco Rock Project, and proceeds from the Ray Hamilton Memorial Fund are donated to Rock Project in Ray’s honor and memory.
