Teen Summer Photography Camp states that photography is about more than simply learning how to use a camera and describes it as about the joy and fulfillment felt while creating a photograph. The program is described as a hands-on, in-person photography experience for creative teens aged 12 and up, with small-group summer camps of up to 10 campers per session in San Francisco and a class size of 5 in Palo Alto. All photography equipment is fully provided, including a modern, beginner-friendly Canon R50 mirrorless camera, two lenses, memory cards, and a camera bag, and equipment is upgraded in 2026 to the Canon R50. Campers bring their own laptops with Adobe Lightroom Classic installed for editing sessions. The San Francisco camp includes five outdoor field trips, with fares included for round trips between classroom sessions and field trip locations, and transitions between classroom sessions and field trips are via Uber or Lyft. Camp fees include transportation and entrance fees to field trip locations, admission to the San Francisco Zoo, and the cost of prints, and entrance fees are included in general. In Palo Alto, instruction and the editing session take place inside Joe & The Juice instead of a traditional classroom, each student is offered one free drink at Joe & The Juice every day, and multiple field trips happen in the same day instead of being spread across the week. Lunch is not included, and campers either eat together in local restaurants or bring their own lunch. The camp states that it nurtures patience, self-reflection, confidence, and discipline, and that life skills taught include social skills, public speaking, and persistency. The program states that teens learn to express themselves creatively, form genuine friendships, and see the world from a fresh perspective. Photosprouts is described as San Francisco’s top-rated photography school and San Francisco’s top-rated digital photography workshop, and parents consistently leave 5-star reviews on Google and Yelp. The program notes that safety is a top priority and that certain activities are prohibited. It also notes that modern mirrorless cameras are provided in class so students do not need to own one, and that general Photosprouts classes outside of camp have a maximum of six attendees per class.
