Teen Summer Photography Camp is part of Photosprouts, which states that photography is about both the joy and fulfillment of creating an image and the skills that help bring a vision to life. The program offers small-group summer camps with a maximum of 10 campers per session in San Francisco and 5 campers in the Palo Alto Exploration. Each camper receives a Canon R50 mirrorless camera, two lenses, memory card(s), and a camera bag, and San Francisco campers bring their own laptops with Adobe Lightroom Classic installed. Camp fees include transportation and entrance fees to field trip locations, including admission to the San Francisco Zoo, as well as the cost of prints, and lunch is not included but campers eat together at local restaurants or bring a packed lunch. The San Francisco camp includes a textbook, 5 outdoor field trips, and transportation between classroom sessions and field trip locations via Uber or Lyft, and the Palo Alto Exploration includes multiple field trips in the same day and one free drink per day at Joe & The Juice for each student. The program notes that it nurtures patience, self-reflection, confidence, and discipline, emphasizes meaningful social connection and real-world engagement, and focuses on creative skills such as different types of photography and life skills such as social skills, public speaking, and persistency. Photosprouts reports that San Francisco camps are usually 90% full by the second week of April and Palo Alto Exploration by early May, that parents consistently leave 5-star reviews on Google and Yelp, and that San Francisco camp pricing has not increased since 2020. The organization states that safety is a top priority and that certain activities are prohibited. Photosprouts is described as San Francisco’s top-rated photography school and top-rated digital photography workshop and has been featured on the CBS lifestyle TV show “This Is SF.”
