San Francisco State Kids Camp offers recreation, field trips, interactive learning activities, swimming, and indoor climbing. Campers use a 42-foot tall indoor climbing wall and swim in a pool that is described as gorgeous, with opportunities for learning to swim.
• Schedule: Camp is open all day, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
• Price: Early Care and After Care options for just $20 a day or $70 a week.
San Francisco State Kids Camp takes place in the Mashouf Wellness Center, which includes an Activity Pool, Lap Pool, a 42-foot tall indoor climbing wall, and a Wellness Facility. All staff are current San Francisco State University students, and all counselors are required to participate in 40 hours of intensive program training that covers camp operations, safety, risk management, activity programming, and how to use the Wellness Facility. The entire staff are CPR, First Aid, and AED certified, and the pool has certified lifeguards. The mission of San Francisco State Kids Camp is to provide a safe and high-quality summer experience that engages campers with recreation, field trips, and other interactive learning activities, and its diverse and inclusive programming will educate at a beginner level on the dimensions of health and wellness in a fun summer environment. The leadership team includes Demont Oliver, Monolito “Lee” Twyman, Chanda Jensen, Ben Forchini, Ryan Macko, Sabrina Sousa, Ashley Vind, Edward Viray, Sara McKeon, Adeboye Adeyemi, and Summer Camp Student Managers Alyssa R. and Dylan G. The Mashouf Wellness Center attracts the greater community to educational, cultural, and social experiences at San Francisco State.
