About
SF Dragons Soccer Camp is a premier youth soccer camp that runs two specialized training programs: the Youth Academy and the Advanced Development Academy. Camp activities include age-appropriate soccer activities and small-sided games for boys and girls in grades K–8. The Youth Academy introduces players in K–3 to the fundamentals of soccer in a fun, supportive environment, while the Advanced Development Academy is for older, more competitive players from 4th to 8th grade.

The camp is led by Coach Willian Lelis, a former Brazilian professional player who competed in Brazil and concluded his career in Switzerland, later playing for several competitive clubs in the Bay Area before joining the SFYS league. Coach Willian has over 20 years of coaching experience across schools, clubs, and futsal programs throughout San Francisco. The leadership team includes Head Coach Willian Lelis, João Carvalho of Club Athletico Parceiros, and William Velasco Vila of Club Athletico Parceiros.
SF Dragons Soccer Camp’s mission is to develop creative and confident players through mindful coaching, using expert training rooted in the Brazilian coaching style while focusing on both technical skills and character development. The program states that strong character values are essential for soccer players, teaching athletes to respect opponents, referees, and teammates, and that these values foster a positive and respectful environment important for success in high-performance soccer.
The camp operates in partnership with Club Athletico Parceiros (CAP), a program inspired by South American football that encourages players to express themselves, play freely, and build confidence with the ball. Through the Thrive Through Play community initiative, the camp offers scholarships that expand access to youth experiences in sports, play, and personal development, supporting children in building confidence, skills, friendships, and joyful memories through the game. Families can contact the camp at (415)350-9779.
Parent feedback includes comments that Coach Willian is hands-on with instruction, connects with players, motivates them, and runs training sessions that are different and fun with a lot of competition. Parents report that their children have trained with the coaches almost year-round, look forward to practices and camps, and that camps during Covid gave kids a chance to see friends, play safely, and learn soccer skills. Testimonials also describe Coach Willian as skilled, patient, and kind, and note that children came home enthusiastic, felt more confident about school soccer, and that even initially reluctant younger players came to enjoy soccer.
