SF Dragons Soccer Camp

SF Dragons Soccer Camp offers a premier youth soccer program that brings the Brazilian way of soccer to life through its Youth Academy, Player Development Academy, and small-sided games. The Youth Academy introduces boys and girls to the fundamentals of soccer in a fun, supportive environment, with a focus on ball mastery, plenty of touches, and activities that build coordination, balance, and agility. The Player Development Academy is for older, more competitive players and uses specific drills tailored to improve techniques while emphasizing important values that make them great teammates and competitors, with both programs running concurrently each week and using age-appropriate activities and small-sided games.

SF Dragons Soccer Camp offers two specialized training programs designed to enhance player development for children in grades K–7, with both programs providing a dynamic and engaging experience tailored to each age group throughout every camp session. Through age-appropriate activities and small-sided games, players practice simple decision-making, learn how to work with others, and develop social skills and sportsmanship. The camp is led by Head Coach Willian Lelis, a former Brazilian professional player who competed in Brazil and concluded his career in Switzerland before moving to the U.S. and playing for several competitive clubs in the Bay Area. He joined the SFYS league with a focus on youth soccer development and sharing his professional expertise, and he has over 20 years of coaching experience with beginners and highly skilled, competitive teams across schools, clubs, and futsal programs throughout San Francisco. He is widely respected for his tactical understanding, steady leadership, and ability to connect with young athletes. The program’s mission is to empower players to become their best through mindful, professional coaching that nurtures both technical skills and personal development, with a belief that strong character values are essential for soccer players and foster a positive and respectful environment important for success in high-performance soccer.

For the past two years, Coach Willian has offered summer camps for school teams and the broader community. One parent, Andrew Barous, describes him as hands-on with instruction, able to connect with players and motivate them, and notes that training sessions are always different and fun with a lot of competition, with summer camps being a “life saver” for their family and highly recommended to other families. Another parent, Roberto R., shares that both of his children have worked with Coach Willian for three years, training almost all year round and looking forward to practices and camps, and says he “can’t recommend it enough.” Parent Ahna Economidis notes that her children enjoyed a boys and girls camp during Covid where they could play safely, learn soccer skills, and get a break from Zoom, and she reports that her son feels more confident about his school soccer team and that her younger daughter, who previously did not play soccer, now loves it and plans to join camp again.
