About
SFBA Sports Performance offers basketball skill training, IQ development, athletic performance, and recovery for youth athletes. The program includes basketball practices, basketball skills development, team concepts, strength training, agility and speed work, and basketball scrimmages. Athletes also take part in basketball tournaments, travel tournaments, and a basketball camp that combines basketball skill work, athletic performance development, scrimmages, and recovery, including vertical jump and agility training using Vertimax platforms and strength training for basketball.
• Ages: 8–13 years old
• Schedule: Spring–Summer season runs from mid March through the end of July, with AAU team practices twice per week and two tournaments per month from April through July; Fall season runs from September through October; Summer Basketball Camp runs Monday–Friday, 8 AM–3 PM; AAU team practices are 90 minutes, and Skill Development/Athletic Performance sessions are 60 minutes
SFBA Sports Performance hosts club and travel basketball teams from 3rd grade through high school, with teams competing in both local and travel events. For the Spring/Summer AAU season, pre-season begins in mid March with the season starting in April, and in May on Memorial Weekend teams participate in a travel tournament in Reno, Nevada, followed by a tournament in Las Vegas, Nevada in July. Eligible students for the Summer Hoops Academy are 3rd–8th grade. The program states its mission as supporting youth athletes through skill development, athletic performance, and recovery. Athletes undergo monthly testing to measure 3/4 court sprint, lane agility, and vertical jump, and in-season strength training is included.
