SHC Summer Institute

SHC Summer Institute is a series of one-week enrichment courses and sports academies where actors, artists, athletes, and scientists explore topics through hands-on learning and field trips. Campers engage with topics that are not typically offered at their grade level, and athletes attend one-week sports camps focused on strengthening their skills. The program includes the Junior Irish Academy, The La Salle Academy, The De Paul Academy, and the Fighting Irish Sports Academy, all running as one-week workshops or camps from 9 am to 3 pm with a lunch break from noon to 1 pm.

• Ages: 8–14 years old
• Schedule: One-week enrichment courses and sports academies running from June 8 to July 17, with daily sessions from 9 am to 3 pm

Junior Irish Academy offers one-week enrichment workshops from 9 am to 3 pm for motivated students entering the 3rd and 4th grades. The La Salle Academy offers one-week enrichment workshops from 9 am to 3 pm for motivated students entering the 5th and 6th grades. The De Paul Academy offers one-week enrichment workshops from 9 am to 3 pm for motivated students entering the 7th, 8th, and 9th grades. The Fighting Irish Sports Academy offers one-week sports camps from 9 am to 3 pm for aspiring athletes ages 9–14. Extended care options are available for SHC Summer Institute.

SHC Summer Institute is instructed by Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory’s faculty, staff, and coaches. Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory states that the tenets it was founded upon in 1852 remain in place and describes itself as dedicated to academic excellence, faith formation, and student success. The school describes a vibrant, close-knit community that works together to educate youth and create leaders, and notes that it serves San Francisco County, San Mateo County, Alameda County, and Marin County.
