Voices of Music Outreach & Education Programs

Voices of Music Outreach & Education Programs includes the Emerging Artist Program, the Junior Recorder Society, after-school recorder classes, and the Barbary Coast Recorder Orchestra. The program is connected to a Concert Series in the San Francisco Bay Area and focuses on concerts and recordings of music composed before 1800. Voices of Music performs both renaissance and baroque music and draws upon many sources for historical performance practice.

The mission of Voices of Music Outreach & Education Programs is to offer concerts and recordings of music composed before 1800, advanced training for the next generation of young professionals, and community outreach. The organization states that it provides music of the highest quality in live performances and, through innovative programming and original and passionate artistry, introduces new audiences of all ages to the world of early classical music. Voices of Music describes itself as America’s premier Early Music ensemble, the most popular Early Music ensemble in the United States, and one of the most widely viewed music ensembles of any kind in the world today. More than 100,000 people watch concerts and programming from the ensemble each day, totaling more than thirty million viewers a year, and Voices of Music produces 8K Ultra High Definition video performed on original instruments. The organization is a Non-Profit 501(c)(3) and states that it strives to provide affordable educational programs for children and adults, as well as advanced training for the next generation of young professionals and community outreach.
