Silicon Valley National Junior Basketball (SVNJB) offers the Rookie Program, a K-3rd grade co-ed development program with lowered rims, structured drills, and scrimmages. It also offers Winter League, Spring League, Summer Leagues, and Fall Team League with 5 on 5 games, boys and girls divisions, and multiple competition levels or team formats depending on the league. SVNJB also offers skill development clinics, small group training, advanced training for higher skilled players and AAU players, and outdoor camps with basketball skills work in groups of 12 or fewer players.

  • Winter League — Grades K-12th · Nov-Mar; Sunday games · 5 on 5 league; boys & girls divisions; not co-ed; multiple competition levels; must register with local chapter.
  • Spring League — Grades 3rd-8th · Mar-May · 5 on 5 league; boys & girls divisions; not co-ed; free agents and pre-formed teams; 6 regular season games plus playoffs.
  • Summer Leagues — Grades 3rd-8th · Jun-Aug · 5 on 5 league; boys & girls divisions; not co-ed; free agents and pre-formed teams; 2 summer sessions.
  • Fall Team League — Grades 3rd-8th · Sep-Oct · 5 on 5 league; boys & girls divisions; not co-ed; whole pre-formed teams only; limited spots available; 6 regular season games plus post season tournament.
  • Skill Development Program — Basketball clinics for shooting, dribbling, passing, and other skills.
  • Training Camp — Small group basketball training focused on fundamentals through drills, exercises, and games.
  • Stars Elite Training — Advanced basketball training for higher skilled players and AAU players.
  • Outdoor Camps — Group basketball skills development in a fun environment; small groups of 12 or fewer players.

About the provider

National Junior Basketball was founded in 1984. Its mission states goals of inspiring youth regardless of race, creed, or national origin, practicing health, citizenship, and character, keeping player welfare first, and emphasizing teamwork for all participants. The Silicon Valley Section has 14 chapters with over 5,000 players, and NJB in Northern California has about 8,500 boys and girls playing NJB basketball.

Players must play in the chapter in which they reside. Winter League has boys and girls divisions and is not co-ed. Spring, Summer, and Fall leagues are boys and girls divisions and not co-ed. Fall Team League is for whole pre-formed teams only. The organization uses a draft system to keep teams equal in talent and size.
