West Coast Martial Arts - Santa Teresa offers martial arts and mixed martial arts training that includes practical self-defense, Tae Kwon Do, boxing, kickboxing, grappling, and stick fighting. The program also offers a Little Dragons program, a Junior color belt program, an Adult color belt program, and a boot camp class. At Santa Teresa Martial Arts, students practice the Ernie Reyes’ West Coast World Martial Arts Association curriculum, which blends different martial arts styles from around the world into a mixed martial arts system.

West Coast Santa Teresa opened its doors on May 1, 2000, and is part of the Ernie Reyes’ West Coast World Martial Arts Association of 40 schools across the nation, founded by Grand Masters Ernie Reyes and Tony Thompson. The association’s stated purpose is to develop oneself physically, mentally, and spiritually, with a goal to create peace, harmony, health, happiness, and success through West Coast World Martial Arts training, and to impact and empower people’s lives through the WCWMA Black Belt and Mastery Success System. The Little Dragons program is for ages 4 to 8 years and includes learning self-discipline while learning how to punch, kick, and build a foundation for practical self-defense. The Junior color belt program is described as a full mixed martial arts system for students ages 9 to 14. KJN Joe Soltis is the owner and Master Instructor at West Coast Santa Teresa. KJN Joe has been training for 30 years and has trained under MMA legend Frank Shamrock and MMA lead trainer “Crazy” Bob Cook, as well as MMA and kickboxing instructors Javier Mendez and Len Shults. He has over 7 years of Jujitsu training from Brazilian Jujitsu black belts Dave Camirillo and Leonardo “Gloglo” Seixas, and black belt Dray Miller. KJN Samantha Gonzalez is the program director and lead Little Dragons and white belt instructor at West Coast Santa Teresa. KJN Samantha is a 5th-degree black belt who has been training for over 20 years and has competed in countless tournaments in Tae Kwon Do fighting and traditional Tae Kwon Do forms.
The founders of the West Coast World Martial Arts Association, Grand Masters Ernie Reyes and Tony Thompson, are described as world-class fighters. Master Ernie Reyes was inducted into the Black Belt Hall of Fame as Instructor of the Year and was the National Tae Kwon Do Champion in fighting. In 1977 he represented the USA and was a world-class winner at the World Championships held in Chicago. Master Reyes’ son, Ernie Reyes Jr., made martial arts history by being the youngest child ever to be rated in the adults professional division at the age of 8 years old, and Master Reyes has produced many national champions and an Olympic champion. Budo magazine of Europe wrote that the Ernie Reyes’ World Martial Arts Action Team is #1 in the world.
