The mission of Almaden Academy of Music is to feed any student’s natural love of music and to help them progress toward their personal musical goals. The leadership team includes AAM Director Hannah Fuerst, Magic Music Box teacher Miss Kaya, and San Jose Singing Squad leader Miss Hannah.
The program offers a proprietary, progressive curriculum for the All Together Now! early childhood class, which serves babies to age 6 with a caregiver and includes age-appropriate variations. Magic Music Box develops note-reading and writing, rhythm, pitch, singing, instrumental skills, improvisation, and storytelling. Intro to the Instruments is a gateway to private lessons and covers piano, drums, recorder, and violin. San Jose Singing Squad prepares and presents at least two performances per year. Students have optional participation in two yearly recitals, the Royal Conservatory of Music Development program, ABRSM, and Certificate of Merit. The school offers Suzuki or traditional instruction.
Almaden Academy of Music runs an instrument rental program through EASYRENT powered by NEMC, with access to a large inventory of teacher-approved quality musical instruments in new or like-new condition. School-year, short-term, and long-term instrument rentals are available and shipped to the renter’s door.
Almaden Academy of Music is an approved vendor for Ocean Grove and an approved vendor for SJUSD public schools (elementary general music).
