About

San Jose Baseball Training Center offers training programs that include hitting training, defense training, and pitching training. Players take part in tournament play, travel tournaments, local baseball games, and tryouts for the Bulldogs.

• Ages: 10–18 years old

The program includes the California Bulldogs travel team, which was established in the San Jose area in 2000 and found a permanent home in an indoor facility in 2005. Young players begin their career in the California Bulldogs, and the program runs from 10U to 18U and grows with the players’ age and ability. The Bulldogs offer programs suited to each age group, from basic skills development for junior players to college preparation for high school players. The program focuses on player development and college placement, and teams attend national tournaments, multiple showcases, and tournaments each year.

San Jose Baseball Training Center is the home of the California Bulldogs Baseball Program and is part of a nationwide academy program that focuses on the advanced development of players and facilitates their exposure to both college and professional scouts. The indoor facility allows pitching and hitting practice year round regardless of weather. The stated mission is to offer a program that allows serious baseball players to advance their skills through training programs and tournament play.

The leadership and coaching staff include Ernie Sarinana, Isaiah Resendez, Rex Lagman, Luis Lerma, Erik Barron, and Alyssa Raguini. Ernie played for Cerritos College and Cal State Dominguez Hills, played in the Japanese baseball league and in Italy, and has achieved major championship victories such as the USTSA Winter Championships. Isaiah Resendez was a 3-year varsity catcher for Mt. Pleasant High School and started for Gavilan College. Rex Lagman was a 4-year varsity starter at Evergreen Valley High School and played two JUCO seasons at Gavilan College. Coach Luis graduated from Valley Christian High School in 2011, led the team with a .348 batting average, was a pitcher, catcher, and 3rd baseman, played for numerous big travel ball programs, played two seasons for the San Jose PAL Giants, attended Sonoma State University and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration (Management), and attained a Masters Degree in Athletic Administration and Coaching through Concordia University, Irvine. Coach Luis has been Head JV Baseball Coach at Pioneer High School since 2017, was Varsity Catching Coach at Valley Christian High School from 2015 to 2016, and has been Assistant Coach for the San Jose PAL Giants Summer Team since 2014. Erik Barron was a 3-year varsity baseball player at Mt. Pleasant High School from 2010–2012, received awards including Sophomore of the Year, 1st Team All League, MVP of the ST Division, and Nor Cal High School Player of the Year, threw back-to-back no-hitters, had a 21–0 season in 2012, attended Gavilan Junior College from 2012–2015, received awards including Pitcher of the Year, Nor Cal JUCO Player of the Year, 2015 Coast Pacific All Conference MVP, In Student Athlete for the Month March award, ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove award and 1st Team, and signed to Cumberland University on a full scholarship. Alyssa Raguini lettered all four years on the Piedmont Hills High School Varsity Softball Team from 2009–2012, was named captain her junior and senior seasons, played on the Ohlone College Women’s Softball team for the 2013 and 2014 seasons, received an A.A. degree in Human Development, started for Ohlone in middle infield positions and outfield, led her team with a .402 batting average, and received honors including 2014 Captain, 2013 and 2014 All Conference Player, 2014 March Madness All Tournament Player, 2014 MVP for Ohlone College Women’s Softball team, 2014 Ohlone College Female Athlete of the Year, selection as a 2014 All State Academic softball player sponsored by the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA), and an academic/athletic honor by being selected by the Louisville Slugger “Girls Got Game” award. She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Child and Adolescent Development with a Minor in Communication Studies from San Jose State University.

The program’s history includes the California Bulldogs travel team being established in 2000, partnering in 2009 with one of the leading college development programs in the country, and in 2016 San Jose Baseball Training joining with another elite team to offer the next level in competitive development and exposure for its high school athletes. Documented credentials and awards connected to the program and its staff include major championship victories such as the USTSA Winter Championships, recognition as a 2014 All State Academic softball player sponsored by the CCCAA, and the Louisville Slugger “Girls Got Game” award.
