About

Singers Company is a program where girls sing, dance, perform, and have chances to do solos. The group practices together and prepares performances during the school year.

• Ages: 3–11 years old
• Schedule: Girls attend practice once a week for 50 minutes and practice and perform during the school year

Singers Company (originally Singer’s Company) was started in 1994. Groups are directed by local directors and can be started as franchises in different cities, and groups are popping up in cities across the U.S. Singers Company groups have 2–3 performances at the end of each Singers Company season, and one group described a first performance at an assisted living center. Singers Company has a published book titled "I'll Share My Voice."

Katie Parker founded Singers Company after a lifetime of experience as both a student and teacher of music and dance and serves as Founder and CEO. The leadership team includes Carrie Damitz (Executive Officer), Becky Fife (Show Development), Danielle Jones (Product Manager), and Isabel Malherbe (Director Mentoring Program Manager). Carrie Damitz has a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Brigham Young University and has taught kindergarten, first grade, third grade, and middle school foreign language. Danielle received her bachelor’s degree at CSULB in Health Science.

The mission of Singers Company states that there is beauty and value in each and every voice, that when girls feel confident and empowered they make better decisions, look for the good in others, and grow up to be powerful women and moms, and that these confident girls change the world one person, family, and community at a time.

Parent comments describe girls singing solos with confidence, looking forward to Singers Company each week, and wanting to attend more than once a week. Parents report that their daughters enjoy singing, dancing, and performing, including solos, and that they see changes such as being willing to be in front of an audience, speaking and singing in front of crowds, and singing by themselves at home. Several parents mention positive experiences with the way girls are welcomed into class, the way directors interact with the girls, and the excitement around performances and recitals.
