KnowledgeQuest is a learning center for students in grades K-12 that focuses on helping children build a foundation that stimulates a love for learning with lasting results. Programs are designed to fit the individual student, and teachers use a multi-sensory approach to learning, including learning materials and teaching methods from Europe and hands-on materials from overseas. KnowledgeQuest administers evaluation tests to determine each child's academic strengths and weaknesses, conducts regular progress tests, conferences with parents every 20 hours of instruction, and collaborates with the child's school teacher.

KnowledgeQuest was founded in 1995 by Jasna (Ms.) Knowles, who holds a BS in Computer Science and a Masters of Education and Computer Science and has training in special education, learning disabilities, and advocacy during IEP/504 meetings. Ms. Knowles began her career as an algebra classroom teacher in public and private schools. Over 40,000 students have benefited from KnowledgeQuest programs since 1995, and the center has been tutoring school-age youth for 30 years.

KnowledgeQuest reports that its students average 2.3 grade levels of growth after 48 hours of instruction, and also states 2.3 years of academic growth after just 48 hours of instruction. The program reports that 93% of students were referred by satisfied parents and teachers, that 9 out of 10 students who completed test preparation classes were admitted to their preferred private high school, and that 98% of students who completed programs were accepted to the college of their choice. KnowledgeQuest is licensed to proctor various university exams.

KnowledgeQuest describes a six-step process: evaluation of skills and learning style, individualized program design, consultation with the classroom teacher, at least 2 hours of instruction per week, experienced and credentialed teachers using innovative multi-sensory approaches, and close monitoring of progress with adjustments from one instructional session to the next. The program states a promise to students of stronger study habits, increased self-confidence, higher grades, and “lots of smiles.”

KnowledgeQuest states that its teachers are experienced and credentialed, and that they tutor in phonics, reading, writing, study skills, basic math, algebra 1, geometry, algebra 2, pre-calculus, calculus, SAT, ACT, and HSPT preparation, and homework help. The program also states that the best results for students are achieved by working trilaterally with input from the student's family, the classroom teacher, and KnowledgeQuest at all stages of the tutoring process.

KnowledgeQuest reports that it specializes in remediation and enrichment for students in grades K-12 and that it offers after-school science programs at participating schools. The center states that over 40,000 students from San Jose and the greater San Francisco Bay Area have used its programs since 1995.

KnowledgeQuest has received multiple awards, including being voted the Best 2025 Tutoring Center in San Jose and being in the Business Hall of Fame – Best of 2025 and 16 years in a row for the City of San Jose. It has also received the Best of Tutors.com 2019 award, has been awarded best tutoring center 5 years in a row, is reported as being voted one of the three best tutoring centers in San Jose, and is described as a 5-star rated company.
