KnowledgeQuest was founded in 1995 by Jasna Knowles, who holds a BS in Computer Science and a Masters of Education and Computer Science, and has additional training in special education, learning disabilities, and advocacy during IEP/504 meetings. KnowledgeQuest is a learning center for students in grades K-12 and focuses on building a foundation that stimulates a love for learning with lasting results. The team believes that all children can succeed and works trilaterally with input from the student’s family, the classroom teacher, and KnowledgeQuest at all stages of the tutoring process.

Over 40,000 students have attended KnowledgeQuest programs since 1995, and 93% of these students were referred by parents and teachers. The center specializes in remediation and enrichment for students in grades K-12, and programs are designed to fit the individual student. Each student’s skills are evaluated to determine academic strengths, weaknesses, and preferred learning style, and an individualized program is created based on these assessments. With parental permission, staff consults with the student’s classroom teacher to align school curriculum with the KnowledgeQuest program. Students receive at least 2 hours of instruction per week, their progress is closely monitored from session to session, and regular progress tests are conducted. KnowledgeQuest conferences with parents every 20 hours of instruction and is licensed to proctor various university exams. Reported results include an average of 2.3 grade levels of growth after 48 hours of instruction, 9 out of 10 students in test preparation classes admitted to their preferred private high school, and 98% of students who completed programs accepted to the college of their choice. The program states a promise of stronger study habits, increased self-confidence, higher grades, and “lots of smiles.”
