Assumption CYO Sports

Assumption CYO Sports offers Track and Field, Girls Basketball, Sand Volleyball, Boys Basketball, and Girls Volleyball. The program offers team sports in the fall, winter, and spring for both girls and boys in grades K–8. Track and Field is offered for K–8th grades, Girls Basketball is offered for 2nd–8th grades, and Sand Volleyball is offered for 5th–8th grades.

• Ages: 5–13 years old
• Schedule: Registration is open Jan. 5th–19th. The practice and game schedule is determined after registration closes and is announced by the Athletic Directors.

Assumption CYO Sports is a ministry of the Church of the Assumption that models Christ's teachings in the athletic and spiritual development of youth in the parish. Through sports, it fosters faith, fellowship, character, and teamwork in a supportive, inclusive community where athletes can grow and thrive. Assumption Church and School have an active CYO program which provides several sports to the children in the parish and community. Prior to enrolling, participants need to either live within the parish boundary, attend Faith Formation classes, or attend Assumption School. Participants are instructed to register for the grade they are actually in for the current school year, and teams may be adjusted after registration to determine which athletes will play up, if necessary.

Assumption Parish and School are celebrating their 75th anniversary in 2026, and the very first Mass of Assumption Parish was held on February 11, 1951. Assumption CYO is an expanded group of parents and parishioners committed to growing and improving the CYO sports program. The leadership team includes CYO Co-chairs Shereda Nosakhare and Josh Meyer. Assumption CYO is seeking a Treasurer and invites people with a passion for youth sports who know how to balance a checkbook to contact the program.
