Broadmoor Preschool

Broadmoor Preschool is a play-based, parent cooperative preschool. Children take part in art, cooking, science, math, games, outdoor activities, fairy garden activities, fieldtrips, and one-on-one floater time. The program includes AM Class for ages 3-4, PM Class for ages 4-5/TK, Tot Time for age 2, and Summer Camp for ages 2.5-5.

About the provider

Broadmoor Preschool has been sponsored by the San Leandro Adult School since 1952. It is a member of the California Council of Parent Participation Nursery Schools (CCPPNS) and the East Bay Council of Parent Participation Nursery Schools. The program description says parents work in the classroom as assistant teachers and attend one mandatory Parent Education meeting each month on Tuesday from 7-10 pm.

Play-based, child-centered preschool. Parent participation is required. Broadmoor is nut-free. Fieldtrips are usually at least one per month and siblings are often welcome; at least one guardian is required to attend on fieldtrip days. No diaper changing by directors; parents/caregivers working on school days must complete live scan fingerprinting, and caregivers must also complete a negative TB screen.
