About
Davis Street Summer Camp Programs include weekly camp sessions with activities such as sports, field trips, art, health, writing, and cooking. The program also offers STEM activities, including robot making and bridge building, and activities that support each child’s cognitive, emotional, and physical growth. The program offers safe, caring child care for preschool children through 12 years old and hopes that the summer camp experience strengthens ties with family and community.

• Price: We offer summer camp at affordable rates for full cost day care, as well as those who receive no/low cost subsidized child care.
Davis Street Summer Camp Programs take place at Davis Street Licensed Summer Camp Child Development Centers at Garfield Elementary and Roosevelt Elementary, where children receive a stimulating, nurturing, and inclusive environment to learn and grow. The program is served by Stop #4 on the South Loop San Leandro LINKS free shuttle route and offers ample free onsite parking. Davis Street provides a full range of services including medical care, child care, food, and clothing, and states that it will not turn anyone away.
Since 1972, Davis Street has been a key community leader in guiding families and individuals out of poverty and into productive lives by helping others help themselves, and it was founded in 1972 to provide basic emergency support services to low-income individuals. Its mission is to improve the quality of life for low-income residents in the Eden Area and surrounding communities, and it provides supportive services for families and individuals in need in San Leandro and surrounding areas. Davis Street has been selected as a 2023 California Nonprofit of the Year. The leadership team includes Daniel Johnson, MHA, Chief Executive Officer, and Rose Padilla Johnson, CEO.
