Classrooms at Play Pals Preschool are built around children's natural curiosity and are rooted in the Reggio Emilia philosophy. The program is an inclusive preschool and daycare with onsite speech therapy and onsite ABA services for children who need additional support, with integrated therapy services within the classroom setting. It is part of the East Bay Child Development Center and offers inclusive, play-based preschool programs with a family-centered, strengths-based approach. Play Pals was started in February 2020 and holds CA Facility #015700598.
Staff at Play Pals Preschool include certified speech-language pathologists and therapists, licensed therapists, and teachers trained in diverse learning needs. The program uses daily updates via the Brightwheel mobile app and is a nut-free environment, with nut-free snacks that include items from two different food groups. Children bring their own nut-free lunch, a reusable water bottle, and a blanket or sleeping bag for naptime, and families provide slip-on indoor shoes with hard soles that stay in the child’s cubby. Play Pals provides wipes, morning and afternoon snacks, and a nap mat. The program accepts tuition vouchers from Bananas, 4C’s, Hively, and Davis Street, and telehealth/teletherapy is available through East Bay Child Development Center.
Play Pals Preschool serves East Bay communities as a community partner committed to nurturing each child’s unique strengths and has hosted the San Leandro Chamber of Commerce, with Regional Center of the East Bay case managers joining an event. Parent testimonials describe the program as “LIFE CHANGING” and praise the staff for going “above and beyond to be inclusive,” with several parents noting positive experiences with Ms. Claire and the team and one parent reporting that their child can speak complete sentences and tell short stories after attending.
