The Family Room

The Family Room offers drop-in playgroups, in-person feeding support, prenatal classes, Parent & Me and Toddler & Me classes, music classes, wellness and movement classes, and CPR/First Aid. The program includes free, drop-in support and community, along with casual drop-in playgroups for babies and toddlers, parents, and caregivers. It offers in-person help with feeding questions, including latch, pumping, and going back to work, and provides education and community classes and groups for moms, dads, and young children from pregnancy to preschool.

The Family Room offers expecting parents and young families research-based information and provides research-based information while encouraging parents to trust their gut. The program states that parenting is not one size fits all and that there is not one right way to birth, feed, or parent a baby. Its mission is to bring families together to normalize challenges, celebrate successes, make life-long friendships, and support parents through the ups and downs of parenthood, with a belief that during one of the biggest transitions of life, parents should not feel alone. The program includes a mission of mental health and parenting support, in-person support to make connections, and community when it is needed most, and it states that all parents deserve support, including dads, and that it is inclusive of all families regardless of who they love or how they became a family.

The team includes child development experts such as birth and postpartum doulas, marriage and family therapists, music educators, international board certified lactation consultants, and certified yoga instructors, with international board certified lactation consultants on staff.
