The Collenette School of Dancing was founded in 1926 by Beatrice Collenette, the first student and protégé of Anna Pavlova. Joan Collenette Damon continued the traditions started by her mother for the next 40 years. The current owner, Emily Bratmon, is the third-generation owner and has operated the studio for the last 20 years. She has 39 years of dancing experience, was a pupil and performer at the studio for over 20 years, danced there until college at the California Institute of the Arts in Valencia, and also danced with the Pasadena Dance Theater as a child. She spent two summers performing with the Salzburg International Ballet Company in Salzburg, Austria. Ms. Emily states that ballet is a fascinating art form which promotes life-long poise, discipline, exercise, and confidence, and her mission is to offer correct classical technique in a wholesome and nurturing environment. She offers small class sizes, individualized instruction, and a fun and positive learning environment. Show pictures from 1926 to 2025 are available.
