• Ages: 4–14 years old
San Marino National Little League was organized and chartered by Little League Baseball Inc. in 1953 and has over 72 years of tradition. For more than 72 years, it has provided an outstanding program of youth sports instruction to children in the community. The league is described as one of the largest non-profit youth sports programs in its area, with more than 600 children participating on 53 teams, and as one of the top little leagues in the San Gabriel Valley. It is staffed by volunteers and is completely funded through player registration fees, donations, and sponsorships.
The stated tradition of San Marino National Little League is to provide a positive youth sports experience for every child regardless of ability and to honor teamwork, sportsmanship, and fair play. Coaches, parents, and fans teach these values by example and keep the best interests of every player in mind. Through these actions, the league aims to reflect the spirit of the community, create cherished memories, and build a foundation for players’ future success.
Local rules require more balanced playing time between all players. Teams in competitive divisions (Farm, Minors, Majors, and Juniors) re-draft teams from scratch each year to create balanced teams. Boys and girls 4 through 14 years of age who attend school in San Marino or reside within the city of San Marino and the unincorporated area of San Gabriel that is part of the San Marino School District are eligible to participate.
San Marino National Little League aims to reflect the spirit of its community and has collaborated with adjacent leagues that are not fielding softball divisions to ensure that all children in the area have an opportunity to play softball and baseball.
