WOW! That’s STEM

WOW! That’s STEM is a youth-led nonprofit that offers recurring hands-on workshops where kids can code a robot and launch a catapult. The program includes advocacy, mentorship, and library workshops, with learning experiences created and led by kids, for kids. It focuses on making STEM fun, hands-on, and inclusive, with an initial focus on making STEM accessible to more girls and on working in schools and youth groups that lack STEM resources.

WOW! That’s STEM began in 2022 with a few library workshops to make STEM accessible to more girls and has been committed to “STEM without limits” since 2022. Its mission is to advance equity and inclusion in STEM through advocacy, recurring hands-on workshops, and mentorship for youth with limited access, empowering them to build confidence and resilience. WOW! That’s STEM has community partners including Peer 1 on 1 and has been involved in gathering and distributing humanitarian aid across the Mariana Islands since 2023. The leadership team includes chapter leaders such as Renee Yeung (Pomona, CA Chapter President), Keira Panis (Pomona, CA Outreach Officer), Ivy Lee (Pomona, CA Social Media Manager), Alyssa Islas (Norwalk, CA Chapter President), Gavin Greenspan (San Diego, CA Chapter President), Arianna Zaman (Bergen County, NJ Chapter President), Hannah Chen (Queens, NY Chapter President), Ian Thu (Queens, NY Chapter Vice President), and Rindha Mahakala (Frisco, TX Chapter President).
