Highlands Recreation District Seasonal Camps and Enrichment Programs include offsite field trips, art projects, organized games, swim time, and time to play. Campers can also register for additional onsite enrichment classes available at the Rec during camp hours. The Highlands Rec Seasonal Camp Emergency Packet must be completed for each camper before the first day of camp.

• Schedule: 2026 Spring Camp runs March 30–April 6; 2026 Summer Fun Zone runs June 15–August 7
The Rec offers full-day enrichment camps for students in grades K–8 during fall, winter, spring, and summer breaks based on the SMFC school district’s traditional calendar. Highlands Recreation District provides licensed childcare for children ages 3 months to 8th grade, camps, and enrichment classes, and now offers licensed childcare for infants through age 12, a swim program for all ages and abilities, rooms for meetings and celebrations, and recreational enrichment programs for all age and activity levels. The Highlands Recreation District is dedicated to providing beneficial and enriching programs and services to its patrons and a place to create and promote health, well-being and community. The Highlands Recreation District was established in 1957 with a 5-member elected Board of Directors, and in 1958 residents voted to purchase 3.45 acres of land and construct the facility and swimming pool. In 2018, the District was awarded the Special District Leadership Foundation’s District Transparency Certificate of Excellence for its website content. Filled out emergency packets can be emailed to Mike Koenig at [email protected]. The HRD Baby Pool is closed until further notice; updates will be provided when available. Some activities are available to non-residents of the District.
