Peninsula Gymnastics was founded in 1995 by Mikhail Margulis, Anna Margulis, and Mark Kachko, and in 1999 Courtney Johnson joined the team and later took ownership of the San Mateo facility. Over the last 20 years they have taught thousands of children. The program’s stated mission is that the community strives to create healthy lifestyles in youth through the sport of gymnastics. Peninsula Gymnastics is an official member of the USA Gymnastics Club, and its professional USA Gymnastics coaches are CPR certified, first-aid trained, and screened through background checks. They also provide gymnastics services for several local organizations, including multiple city recreation departments, schools, and community centers.
