Game Ready Sports Camp was founded by Paul Schilling and Joe Ayoob, two local fathers, former Terra Linda Trojans, and college football players who grew up in the community and are committed to giving back to it. Paul Schilling was a three-sport athlete in high school in baseball, basketball, and football, was a varsity football starter for all three years, earned all-league honors each year, and was part of the team that won the NCS Football championship in 2004 against undefeated Marin Catholic. He played football for four years at Whittier College as a running back, safety, and punt returner, and has held multiple coaching roles at Terra Linda High School, including Freshmen Head Coach, JV Head Coach, Varsity Offensive Coordinator, Running Backs Coach, and currently Varsity Running Backs Coach. Joe Ayoob was also a three-sport varsity player in high school in football, basketball, and baseball, earned All-League honors in all three sports, played football at San Francisco City College where he was awarded 1st Team Junior College All-American honors, played football at UC Berkeley and helped the team win the Pac 10 Championship, and played professional football in the Arena Football League for four years. He has been a private coach since 2009 and currently serves as the Varsity Football Head Coach for Terra Linda High School.
The mission of Game Ready Sports Camp is to pass on the lessons the founders learned from youth football through college football, including discipline, resilience, accountability, teamwork, confidence, and personal growth. The program’s stated goal is to create a place where kids can experience these benefits in a positive, supportive environment, learn the game the right way from an early age, and develop sound fundamentals, proper technique, football IQ, and a clear understanding of how to play safely and competitively. The mission also states that the camp aims to help kids play football at a higher level while building character traits that last beyond the field through detailed coaching, real mentorship, and a community-first approach.
Parents have shared that their kids loved working with Paul and Joe and that these coaches have brought out their children’s love and passion for football. One parent described the training as built on fundamentals, effort, and fun, and said the coaches really know what they are doing. Another parent said their children have loved working with Joe and Paul and that the coaches have provided a safe space, taught technique, and taught how to play safely.
