Cucu's PlayHouse

Cucu's PlayHouse offers Music and Movement classes in Spanish where children sing, dance, and play interactive games in a music and play-based program. The program also offers Spanish for children classes, in-person classes in a Playroom, outdoor classes when the weather is nice, virtual classes via Zoom, and in-person music and movement birthday celebrations called “Birthdays at Cucu's.” Cucu's PlayHouse also includes a toy store with toys selected for sustainable practices, materials, and design quality.

Cucu's PlayHouse is a Language Immersion School that specializes in teaching Spanish through Music and Movement to children aged 3 months to 5 years old, with an emphasis on exposing children to the Spanish language through music and play. Each music and movement class is intentionally planned around specific Spanish words and phrases, guided by a selection of children’s songs in Spanish from start to finish. Games and activities are related to the song lyrics to familiarize children with words and meanings, and the songs encourage children to dance. The program also teaches core values such as honesty, empathy, kindness, determination, independence, and confidence through songs, stories, and games. The name Cucu's PlayHouse is inspired by the traditional children’s song “Cucú, cucú, cantaba la rana,” written in 1657 by Luís de Belmonte. The vast majority of toys in the toy store are made out of wood, silk, and other natural materials, with organic pigments, water-based dyes, and non-formaldehyde glue.

Virtual classes are offered every day from Monday through Saturday via Zoom, and contact hours by phone are Monday through Saturday from 10 am to 4 pm. Classes are also offered on Outschool, Activity Hero, KidPass, and other platforms.

Nilda is the Lead Teacher and Founder of Cucu's PlayHouse, and Yani is one of the founders of Cucu's PlayHouse. Lorena is a staff member with years of experience in early childhood education. Blanca is a staff member with 28 years of experience in elementary education and was the director and owner of her own school in Peru for 11 of those years.

Cucu's PlayHouse is described as a top rated Spanish Immersion program for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers, with more than 200 reviews from parents across the United States and beyond, and more than 5,000 children have learned Spanish with the program. One parent shared that their 3-year-old daughter loves Cucu's PlayHouse, looks forward to the 30-minute online classes, and continued participating while the family was traveling, and that Cucu's PlayHouse brought a lot to their family during the pandemic.
