Camp Tamarancho offers activities including archery, rifle, tomahawk throwing, swimming, canoeing, fishing, hiking, backpacking, and mountain-biking. The program takes place on a property that includes a small lake used for swimming, canoeing, and fishing, as well as access to a single-track mountain-biking trail network and hiking and backpacking routes connected to nearby open space.

Marin Council, Scouting America is involved with Camp Tamarancho and also conducts events such as Winter Pinewood Derby Workshop, Spring Family Fiesta weekend, Summer Cub Scout Day Camp weeks, Fall Cub Scout Adventure weekend, District Camp-O-Rees, Order of the Arrow induction ceremonies, and leadership training programs including NYLT, BALOO, IOLS, and WoodBadge. The leadership team connected with the council includes Michael Dybeck (Scout Executive & CEO), Trish Ferenz (District Director), Michael “MJ” Andrews (District Executive), Cynthia Mueller (Office Manager & Executive Assistant), Patrick Jacobsen (Council Trading Post in San Rafael), Austin “AJ” Quilty (Ranger at Camp Tamarancho), and Jake Van Winkle (Ranger at Camp Marin-Sierra).
