Camp Tamarancho

Camp Tamarancho offers activities including archery, rifle, tomahawk throwing, swimming, canoeing, fishing, hiking, backpacking, and mountain-biking. The program uses on-site features such as a small lake for swimming, canoeing, and fishing, a sports field, several picnic areas, hiking and backpacking access to the Marin Open Space Preserve, and a single-track mountain-biking trail network.

Marin Council, Scouting America holds annual events at Camp Tamarancho such as a Winter Pinewood Derby Workshop, Spring Family Fiesta weekend, Summer Cub Scout Day Camp weeks, Fall Cub Scout Adventure weekend, District Camp-O-Rees, Order of the Arrow induction ceremonies, and leadership training programs including NYLT, BALOO, IOLS, and WoodBadge. The leadership team connected with Camp Tamarancho includes Michael Dybeck (Scout Executive & CEO), Trish Ferenz (District Director), Michael “MJ” Andrews (District Executive), Cynthia Mueller (Office Manager & Executive Assistant), Patrick Jacobsen (Council Trading Post in San Rafael), and Austin “AJ” Quilty (Ranger at Camp Tamarancho). Friends of Tamarancho Annual Trail Pass Memberships are available for use of the trail network, and an aerial drone video of Camp Tamarancho is available on Vimeo.
