The leadership team includes Richard Tompkins, the namesake of Tompkins Tennis, and Michael Sperry, Director of Tennis. The coaching team is made up of former Pro Tour and Division I players. Coach Gabriel Ionita is USPTA and Level 2 RSPA (professional) certified, and Sandy Tompkins is a certified Personal Trainer, Sports Nutrition Certified, and TRX-certified. The program states a mission that emphasizes passion over skill, hard work, striving for excellence in tennis, and life-long values of self-respect, self-belief, and positive thinking on and off the court, with the stated ultimate goal “PLAY WITH PASSION®.”

Tompkins Tennis is described as the #1 year-round junior training program on the West Coast and is located in the heart of Silicon Valley. It reports producing more nationally ranked juniors than any other program in Northern California. The program uses a Bounx Centre aligned with the Bounx methodology for player development, including coach-verified rating and Level-Based Play through the BOUNX system. Through the BOUNX Sport system, families have access to contactless booking and payment, attendance tracking, player feedback, XP players can earn, and a chat function.
