About

Mad Science of West Orange County offers hands-on children's science programs where kids work with green glowing liquid, write messages in secret code, explore autonomous robots, and test mystery substances that change from solid to liquid in seconds. Campers can launch into space with NASA-themed activities, engineer with Legos, and make the perfect slime through spectacular science experiments and activities that resonate with kids. Many sessions also include science discovery along with outdoor games and physical activity.

• Ages: 5–12 years old
• Schedule: In-person camps are typically 5 days a week for 3 hours a day, with summer camps usually 3 hours per day; virtual Quick Camps are 1-hour sessions, and virtual 4 Day Camps run 3 hours per day.

Mad Science of West Orange County offers virtual camps, including Quick Camps and 4 Day Camps, with materials delivered to families before camp, as well as in-person camps that combine science discovery, outdoor games, and physical activity. The program also offers backyard camps that are smaller and more hands-on, afterschool programs, birthday parties, workshops, special events, summer camps, homeschool camps and classes, and shows and assemblies described as educational, entertaining, hassle-free, adaptable, and action packed. Programs and products are described as innovative, hands-on, kid tested and approved, and meeting current science standards, with new topics and activities every day and many camp topics available all summer.

Mad Science instructors tend to be college students pursuing an education or science degree, former or retired teachers, or teachers on summer break, and all instructors have experience working with large groups of elementary-aged children and have undergone an extensive background check. For camps, children spend time outside, and parents are asked to send children in closed-toe shoes with sunscreen applied, along with water and an optional snack, since a break is taken and snack is not provided by the camp. For 4 Day Camps held virtually, materials are delivered to the family’s home before camp begins.
