Matchpoint Tennis Academy offers court rentals, reserve and walk-on court time, and private coaching with 1-on-1 training. The program includes a Junior Tennis Program, Adult Tennis Programs, and Summer 2025 Junior Tennis Clinics. Matchpoint Tennis Academy describes itself as a tennis club and junior academy where athletic success and academic excellence meet, with a focus on quality over expansion and a balance between athletic and academic success. The academy has meticulously maintained tennis courts equipped with the latest technology and a comfortable and inviting clubhouse, and it fosters a tight-knit community of players through regular events, tournaments, and social gatherings.
Founder and director Elson is a former top-ranked Brazilian junior player who pursued a pro career before attending Hampton University, where he was ranked #1 in doubles and #2 in singles, graduated with a degree in marketing and professional tennis management, and worked with renowned coach Robert Lansdorp. Head Tennis Pro Danny is a USPTA Certified tennis coach and MPTA Fitness Trainer with over 20 years at Match Point Tennis Academy, specializes in developing junior players and building mental resilience, is fluent in English and Arabic, serves as USTA Junior Team Tennis Coordinator/Director, and holds certifications from ASFA and AFPA. Tennis Pro David has 20 years of coaching experience, including 4 years at Cal Poly Pomona. Tennis Pro Dan has four years of high school tennis, two years at Cypress College, three years on the Pro Tour, and 27 years of coaching experience, 16 of those at MPTA. Tennis Pro Alexey Prokopchuk earned First Team All-PacWest Singles honors, a national ranking of No. 18, Second Team All-PacWest Doubles honors, was named PacWest Player of the Week and Academic All-PacWest, and is now a tennis coach at Biola University. Tennis Pro Quentin Gonzalez set a program record with 106 career wins at Pacific University, was a three-time First Team All NWC selection from 2021 to 2023, reached the ITA Northwest Regional Doubles Final in 2022, and served as Team Captain during the 2022–2023 season. Tennis Assistant Pro Andreea achieved a Top 10 ranking in Switzerland’s U14 tennis division, trained at the Mouratoglou Tennis Academy in France, played for Long Beach State in NCAA Division 1 in the Big West Conference, and is fluent in Romanian, French, and English.
