Orange County Teen Challenge Afterschool Learning Center offers a computer lab and learning center where kids can study and receive tutoring after school. The program includes drug education and prevention, teen and gang intervention, youth groups, clubs, and mentorship. Participants may also take part in neighborhood evangelism, winter camps, sports events, and trips to theme parks, as well as support groups, crisis counseling, evangelism, and parenting classes for families with at-risk youth and pregnant teens.

Orange County Teen Challenge Afterschool Learning Center is part of Orange County Teen Challenge, led by Center Director Shane Parr. Its mission focuses on evangelism and outreach to at-risk youth and families. The broader ministry also offers English as a Second Language classes, juvenile hall and jail ministry, a 24-hour help line, and a radio program called “Rap Line,” which once prevented three teens from committing suicide in one night. Orange County Teen Challenge received Disney’s top award for community outreach. Since the 1960s, its history has included outreach and evangelism during the Jesus movement, the “Gospel Light Club” coffee house in Huntington Beach, “Praise-Ins” in local parks with live music and evangelism, the “Teen Academy” for education, Bible studies, counseling and training related to addictions, and the “God’s Gang” program for violent and at-risk youth. The organization later added a satellite center for tutoring, youth groups, and neighborhood evangelism in San Juan Capistrano, renovated a 4,000-square-foot building to support growing youth programs, and established a house used to house graduates in a “Mentoring Program” who are in transition from dependents of Teen Challenge to productive members of society.
