Camp New Heights describes itself as a supportive overnight camp where kids ages 9–17 develop healthy habits, gain confidence, and experience an unforgettable summer. The program states that it is designed to provide the fundamentals for kids and teens to live an active and healthy lifestyle while losing weight in a sustainable manner, and to give campers skills and tools to live and lead an active and healthy lifestyle upon returning home. The camp states that it specializes in healthy weight loss, uses nutrition education rather than starvation, does not use weigh-ins, before-and-after photos, prescribed meals, or strict calorie counting or limits, and that camp is meant to be fun and is not a boot camp. It also states that the 6-week Transformation program is an all-inclusive camp experience and that there are three program offerings: Jumpstart, Developing, and Transformation.

Camp New Heights states that a successful camp experience begins with the staff and that the camp was started because the founders believed there is a gap in the educational system that has pushed exercise and nutrition to the wayside, and that the camp provides campers of all abilities the opportunity to try new things in a judgment-free atmosphere.

The leadership team includes Stephen Bean as Executive Director, JT Thompson as Director of Strength and Conditioning, and Isain M. and Daniel M. as Assistant Directors. One parent, Tanya V., said, “Camp New Heights was an amazing experience for my daughter. Days were full of exciting activities that she had never experienced before. She came home more confident and 15lbs lighter! The staff was wonderful as well. Thank you for helping kids get healthy and strong, it is very important work.”
