Legends Futbol Academy offers soccer, competitive soccer, and elite training, including beach training and summer camps. Players take part in state tournaments and elite league play as part of the program’s structured, competitive, and values-driven programming. The academy operates as Santa Barbara's Puma Soccer Club and is a Puma Partner.
Founded in 2016, Legends Futbol Academy is led by Head Coach Emmanuel Nana Akyen, who serves as Technical Director and brings a lifetime of soccer experience. The organization is a federally recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit youth soccer organization with a structured governance model that includes an active Board of Directors, financial transparency and fiscal accountability, coaching standards and contractual oversight, player registration and compliance systems, and code of conduct enforcement for players, coaches, and families. Its mission is to compete at the highest levels of club soccer while preparing players for life beyond the game, cultivating an environment built on Family, Integrity, and Purpose, and using soccer as a vehicle to develop discipline, character, leadership, and resilience. Legends Futbol Academy offers scholarship programs to expand access to competitive soccer and is committed to supporting families from diverse backgrounds. It is a nonprofit youth soccer organization serving the Santa Barbara community, with programs and outreach that include scholarship programs, community outreach initiatives, and partnerships with local schools and organizations. Legends Futbol Academy has a partnership with Oaks FC Academy, in collaboration with ZeroGravity, and offers official Legends Futbol Academy gear through a local partner store.
