About
Santa Barbara Grizzlies Baseball Group – Coastal Dodgers Program offers instruction, player-development, and a competitive environment for youth, high school, and college baseball players. Players in the program practice once a week at Cabrillo High School and play double headers on the weekend as part of a structured schedule.

Founded in 2011, the Santa Barbara Grizzlies Baseball Group includes the Coastal Dodgers Collegiate Team, which competes in the Golden Coast Collegiate League, and the Coastal Dodgers High School Summer Team, which competes in the Golden Coast High School Wood Bat League on the Central Coast. The Golden Coast Collegiate League consists of 12 teams from the Central Coast, Fresno, and Los Angeles County, and the Coastal Dodgers High School Summer Team competes against teams from Santa Barbara, Ventura, and Moorpark. The league schedule is set up for players to get extra fundamental repetitions during the week and compete on the weekends, with a schedule created for players to train, rest, and enjoy their summer with family and friends.
The Coastal Dodgers Collegiate Team will open their 2024 season versus the SLO Blues on May 24–25 with a 6pm first pitch at Sinsheimer Park, with the Golden Coast League All-Star Game on July 10, 2024, at Westmont College and the league championship game on August 1, 2024, at Russ Carr Field. The 2025 season will open versus the SLO Blues on May 23–24 with a 6pm first pitch at Sinsheimer Park, with the Golden Coast League All-Star Game on July 16, 2025, at Westmont College and the league championship game on July 31, 2025, at Russ Carr Field. The Coastal Dodgers roster has included many of the top high school seniors from the Central Coast and collegiate players from Westmont College, Santa Barbara City College, Cuesta College, and Allan Hancock College, as well as players from Cuesta College, SBCC, Allan Hancock College, Colorado Springs, San Marcos High School, Santa Barbara High School, Santa Ynez High School, Righetti High School, and Morro Bay High School.
The 2023 Coastal Dodgers Collegiate Team were champions of the Golden Coast Collegiate League, and the 2022 team finished as co-champions, with the Dodgers having captured back-to-back titles with coaches Chris Joyce and Steven Hardesty. In another season, the Malibu Marlins won their first Golden Coast Collegiate League Championship by defeating the Dodgers 7–4, and the recipient of the “Skyler Sabado Team MVP” award was Cal Wipf. The leadership group connected to the program includes head coach Steve Hardesty; assistant coaches Bob Fystro and Alex Hoover; veteran coach Steven Hardesty; head coach Lucas Signorelli, who is an assistant coach at Cabrillo High School; assistant Jack Jones from Lompoc High School, who will attend CSU Northridge as a pitcher for the Matadors; general manager Tom Myers of the Coastal Dodgers/Santa Barbara Grizzlies; and coaches Chris Joyce and Wes Gibson.
