For over four decades, Westmont has been the go-to spot for kids to enjoy the sports they love in a safe and supportive environment. The mission of Westmont Youth Sports Summer Camps is stated as believing that summer is for playing hard, laughing loud, and trying new things. Girls Basketball camp focuses on handling, passing, jump shots, layups, free throws, decision making, and teamwork. Cheer & Dance camp ends with a dance routine performed on the last day of camp that is open for all to attend and watch. Archery & Badmitten camp emphasizes enjoyment of watching personal improvement and significant skill increase during the one-week camp. Co-Ed Flag Football is new to Westmont Summer Camps, has a camper limit of 65, and aims to promote skill development, understanding of rules and regulations of flag football, and includes many games. Tennis camp teaches different strokes, including serve, forehand, backhand, forehand volley, backhand volley, and overhead, as well as tennis rules. Co-Ed Volleyball camp breaks down technical and tactical skills such as passing, serving, setting, hitting, defense, pepper, serving positions, game situations, communication, and application through playing games. After Care includes down time, a snack, options to watch a movie, play outside, draw, play games, and other activities. Families are instructed to pack a lunch and a snack in a backpack or lunch box, and campers receive a popsicle at snack time, are encouraged to bring backpacks, must wear closed-toed shoes and athletic or movement-friendly clothing, and are asked to bring sunscreen, a towel, and a water bottle to refill at water jugs, with all necessary equipment provided except for possible cleats or a bat if requested by the camp director.
