Founded in 1971 by a group of Portuguese soccer players with a vision to compete in the Peninsula Soccer League, Santa Clara Sporting Soccer Club now serves players from under 6 to under 18. The coaching staff has a track record of nurturing top-tier soccer talent and propelling players to compete at professional levels. The club’s mission states that it develops competitive soccer talent while nurturing values, education, and community spirit, with hard work, skill development, and teamwork as core principles in its player development program.

Santa Clara Sporting Soccer Club lists 47 state championships, 24 national championships, and 50 US Youth National Team players among its achievements. Over 200 players have graduated to play collegiate soccer in the last four years, and a Scholarship Program awards $18,000 annually to six college-bound players. The club has partnerships with Puma and Futeballer Soccer Fit Gym.

Through its Goals-for-A-Cure program, Santa Clara Sporting Soccer Club provides free mammograms to women facing financial barriers, with 100% of donations going to El Camino Hospital. The program has raised over $665,000 and screened more than 3,000 women, and the club has been recognized by the Association of Fundraising Professionals and featured on KPIX CBS News. A Sporting parent reports that watching their son and daughter play for Santa Clara Sporting for over three years has been a fun journey of shared passion and memories, and that these years have taught the players resilience, teamwork, and dedication.
