Santa Clara Youth Soccer League offers recreational soccer programs and competitive soccer programs, including a Fall recreational soccer program and a Spring recreation (development based) program. The league also supports local district-level competitive soccer through Santa Clara Lions Soccer and high-level competitive elite soccer through Santa Clara Sporting Club, with competitive teams that have participated in regional tournaments and national tournaments and have won National, Regional, and State titles.

Santa Clara Youth Soccer League was founded in 1970 and was incorporated in 1980. The league offers recreational and competitive soccer programs for boys and girls from ages 5–18 years and runs a Fall recreational soccer program for boys and girls between the ages of 4 to 15 years of age and of any skill level. Its primary purposes include developing, promoting, and administering the game of soccer and providing a healthy recreational activity while teaching sportsmanship and discipline to youth from under six years old to under the age of nineteen years within the territorial boundaries of the Santa Clara Youth Soccer League. The organization provides, as available, financial aid to players that need assistance and promotes the development of coaches and youth referees by offering instructional courses and resources. It is the mission of the Santa Clara Youth Soccer League to provide the best possible soccer experience for all players in the league. The Santa Clara Youth Soccer League is a 501c3 Non-Profit organization.
The league is a member of US Club Soccer and US Youth Soccer and is organized under the charter of the NorCal Premier League (affiliated with US Club Soccer) and Cal-North (affiliated with US Youth Soccer). Santa Clara Sporting Club is described as one of the oldest and most successful high-level competitive elite soccer clubs in the USA, and the league has announced a partnership with Mogility soccer.
