Santa Clara Youth Soccer League offers recreational soccer, competitive soccer, and “Just for Fun” recreation soccer with no tournaments. The league runs fall recreational soccer for boys and girls of any skill level and spring recreation that is development based. It also includes local district-level competitive soccer through Santa Clara Lions Soccer and high-level competitive elite soccer through Santa Clara Sporting Club.

Santa Clara Youth Soccer League was founded in 1970 and was incorporated in 1980. It is a 501c3 non-profit organization. The league offers different levels of soccer, including Recreation Soccer, the Santa Clara Lions Soccer mid-tier competitive team, and the Santa Clara Sporting Club ultra competitive team. Santa Clara Sporting Club is described as one of the oldest and most successful high-level competitive elite soccer clubs in the USA, and the league’s competitive teams have won National, Regional, and State titles.
The mission of Santa Clara Youth Soccer League is to provide the best possible soccer experience for all players in the league. The primary purposes of the league are to develop, promote, and administer the game of soccer and to provide a healthy recreational activity while teaching sportsmanship and discipline to youth from under six years old to under the age of nineteen years within the territorial boundaries of the Santa Clara Youth Soccer League. The league states that it promotes the development of coaches and youth referees by offering instructional courses and resources and promotes respect for the game of soccer through fair play and sportsmanship. It also states that it provides financial aid to players that need assistance, as available.
Santa Clara Youth Soccer League is a member of US Club Soccer and US Youth Soccer and is organized under the charter of the NorCal Premier League (affiliated with US Club Soccer) and Cal-North (affiliated with US Youth Soccer).
