About
The Swim Pro offers private swim lessons, Learn to Swim Lessons, From Fear to Freestyle, Triathlon Swim, Open Water Swim Retreats, a Toddler Pre-Swim Program, Adult Learn to Swim Lessons, Child Private Lessons, and Child Semi-Private Lessons. The Toddler Pre-Swim Program provides private instruction with one student to one instructor as an alternative to a typical parent/child class.
• Ages: 1–18 years old
• Schedule: 8 weekly or semi-weekly lessons are recommended for Adult Learn to Swim Lessons; 12 weekly or semi-weekly lessons are recommended for From Fear to Freestyle; 4–8 lessons are recommended for Triathlon Swim.
For over 20 years, the mission of The Swim Pro has been to provide a safe, patient, and trauma-free environment where toddlers, children, and adults can master the water. The Swim Pro was started in 2006, and Owner/CEO Kelly McPhail has been teaching swimming since 1994. The mission statement of the program is to give swimmers a safe, patient environment where they can learn to swim, address water-related fears, and improve technique at their own pace.
All instructors at The Swim Pro are First Aid and CPR certified, trained in The Swim Pro’s teaching foundations, and described as highly experienced swim instructors who are career professionals. The team includes Kelly McPhail (Owner/CEO), Mandy Chui (Scheduling Director), Laura Seales (Program Director), Sven Schutz (Lead Instructor), and instructors Darcy Hudson, Jonathan Weils, Olivia McPhail, and Madison McMahan. The Swim Pro is a woman owned small business, and every coach is First Aid and CPR certified.
The program offers private lessons, fully customizable online booking with an online scheduler that is live and always up to date, no registration fees, and no minimum lesson purchase. Families can choose their instructor, schedule, and cancel or reschedule up to 24 hours in advance without a penalty. The Swim Pro offers three specialized programs for adults, including a specialized program for adults needing to overcome even lifelong water fears, and is known for teaching the “unteachable.” The program also offers a Last Minute Lesson Club for deals on lessons and filling immediate openings, and a rewards program where families can earn up to 50% off.
Two warm water pools are open year round in Campbell and Santa Clara, with the Campbell Pool water kept at 88 degrees and the Santa Clara Pool water kept at 86 degrees. For the Campbell Pool, families are asked to arrive 5 minutes before the lesson, fully sunscreened, and to shower before entering the pool.
The Swim Pro donates 10% of each lesson to charity: water and references its global impact with this organization, inviting families to learn more about its chosen charity. One testimonial from a swimmer states that within the first one-hour private lesson, they made “years worth of improvement” and recommends The Swim Pro for private swimming lessons.
