About
The Guitarist Camps and Lessons offers Summer Ukulele Build Camps, Summer Band Camps, an Electric Guitar Build Workshop, and ongoing music lessons. Ukulele Build Camp includes building a ukulele, and Band Camp focuses on playing together in a band setting. The Electric Guitar Build Workshop is a year-round project that involves building a customized electric guitar and learning how an electric guitar works from the inside out.
• Ages: 7–18 years old
For over 25 years, The Guitarist has offered music lessons. Band Camp is for students ages 7–17 who are interested in playing together in a band setting, and Band Camp students spend a week being instructed by accomplished performers while learning the roles and features of guitar, bass, drums, piano, and voice in a rock band. Ukulele Build Camp allows participants to experience what it is like to be a luthier, a builder of stringed instruments. The Electric Guitar Build Workshop is open to anyone ages 12 and up as a year-round project. The Guitarist offers lessons available online and uses an original guitar method book that combines over 30 years of teaching experience. The Guitarist recommends seeing them before buying an instrument and will recommend the best instrument a family can afford, and when purchasing a guitar, The Guitarist will make sure the guitar is set up, tuned up, and ready to learn on. Business hours are Monday through Sunday by appointment only. The Guitarist has offered music lessons to Santa Clara and the surrounding Bay Area. The Guitarist states that the program believes the best way to learn an instrument is with a real person, that nothing compares to real time instruction to put a student on a learning path and correct bad habits before they form, and that it wants to go on a musical journey with each student and be a guide.
