About

The Guitarist Camps and Lessons offers Summer Ukulele Build Camps, Summer Band Camps, an Electric Guitar Build Workshop, and ongoing music lessons. The Ukulele Build Camp allows participants to experience what it is like to be a luthier by building a stringed instrument, and the Electric Guitar Build Workshop involves building a customized electric guitar. Band Camp is for students who are interested in playing together in a band setting and includes learning the roles and features of guitar, bass, drums, piano, and voice.

• Ages: 7–18 years old
• Schedule: Business hours Monday–Sunday by appointment only

Band Camp is open to students ages 7–17 and runs for a week with instruction from accomplished performers. The Electric Guitar Build Workshop is a year-round project for anyone ages 12 and up. The Guitarist offers lessons available online, with students coming from around the world, and uses an original guitar method book that combines over 30 years of teaching experience into a complete method. When purchasing a guitar through The Guitarist, staff make sure the guitar is set up, tuned, and ready to learn on, and they recommend that prospective students see them before buying an instrument so they can suggest the best instrument the student can afford. For over 25 years, The Guitarist has offered music lessons to Santa Clara and the surrounding Bay Area. The program’s stated mission is to use real-time instruction with a real person, to put students on a learning path and correct bad habits before they form, and to join students on their musical journey as a guide.
