Youth Theatre Academy is a new educational project in partnership with the Santa Clarita Shakespeare. The program is part of a Theatre For All initiative.
The mission of the Santa Clarita Shakespeare, which partners with Youth Theatre Academy, is dedicated to the spirit of Shakespeare as a theatre artist who engaged all strata of a community, from the groundlings to nobility, and boldly reinterpreted classic stories with humor for the everyman, allusions for the learned, and insight to character. The organization states that it is dedicated to presenting work that touches the community and speaks to who the community is. Through its educational outreach programs, it is dedicated to reinterpreting classic stories, folklore, and tales that illustrate a common thread through community diversities. It is also dedicated to engaging all aspects of the community through theatre and the arts to create positive changes in the community.
