Boys & Girls Clubs of Santa Cruz County Afterschool & Camps

Boys & Girls Clubs of Santa Cruz County Afterschool & Camps offers daily afterschool programs and seasonal camps that include homework help, art, reading, physical activities, self-directed play, and free healthy meals. The program also offers seasonal specialty options such as art, music, swim lessons, a surf club, and a youth basketball league.

• Ages: 6–18 years old
• Schedule: Afterschool programs are offered five days a week during the school year, with extended day-long hours Monday–Friday in summer and during many school holidays and in-service days.

The program’s mission is to enable all young people, especially those who need it most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. Programs focus on academics, recreation, art, music, career exploration, health and wellness, and character development for youth ages 6–18. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Santa Cruz County uses a Youth Development Strategy that emphasizes a sense of belonging, a sense of power or influence, a sense of competence, and a sense of usefulness. The organization supports local youth by providing spaces with enriching programs and adult mentors who foster a sense of belonging and connection.
