Club Ed Surf School and Camps

Club Ed Surf School and Camps offers surf lessons, surf camps, international surf camps, stand up paddleboarding lessons, and surf equipment rentals. Surf lessons include Private Group Surf Lessons, Semi-Private Surf Lessons, Open Group Surf Lessons, Private Surf Lessons, and Lessons with Ed. Surf camps give all levels of surfers a chance to camp out above the beach for a week and immerse themselves in the surfing lifestyle.

• Ages: 11–18 years old
• Schedule: Open daily Monday–Sunday from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm; surf lessons are typically 2 hours, with options for 1, 1.5, or 2 hour private sessions
• Price: Private Group Surf Lesson: $130 per person; Semi-Private Surf Lesson: $150 per person; Open Group Surf Lesson: $120 per person; Private Surf Lesson: $150 per hour per person; Lessons with Ed: Private lesson $220 per hour; 2 hour Semi-Private $220 per person

In Private Group Surf Lessons and Open Group Surf Lessons, there is 1 instructor for every 4 students, and in Semi-Private Surf Lessons there is 1 instructor for every 2 students. Private group lessons are described as perfect for families, birthdays, corporate events, and team building, and groups of 10 or more get discounted rates. Equipment, including a wetsuit and beginner-friendly board, is included with Private Group, Semi-Private, Open Group, and Private Surf Lessons, as well as Lessons with Ed, and there is an option to tandem for small children in Private Surf Lessons. Stand up paddling is taught at all levels, and Lessons with Ed are available for both surf and stand up paddleboarding, with Ed Guzman having 40+ years of teaching experience and intimate knowledge of local breaks.

Every Club Ed surf coach is described as a qualified professional, carefully selected, experienced instructor and expert in surfing, and the surf instructors are lifeguards, CPR, and First Aid certified. The program states that it is dedicated to teaching surfing in the most fun, successful and safest environment available, with priorities of safety, fun, and learning in that order. With a professional water safety background since the early 1980s, Ed Guzman’s Club Ed Surf School has taught thousands of people to surf and has been voted the Best Surf School in Santa Cruz. Club Ed Surf School teaches surf lessons daily year round and also offers International Surf Camps in Mexico, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Peru, Chile, Fiji, Samoa, Indonesia, and other locations.
