Junebug’s Gym

Junebug’s Gym offers gymnastics, movement to music, and play-based activities using scarves, parachutes, obstacle courses, and various shaped mats. Children use equipment such as bars, rings, a balance beam, trampoline, vault, rope, a foam pit, and a zip-line, and also take part in music and dance. The program also offers Parent’s Night Out, Baby’s Night Out, Open Gym, Inchworm classes, Sensory Play Open Gym, and Birthday Parties.

• Ages: crawling–8 years old (or under 80 pounds); Parent’s Night Out: 3–8 years old; Babies Night Out: crawling–3 years old
• Schedule: Parent’s Night Out is offered two nights a month for ages 3–8 years; Babies Night Out runs from 5:30–7:30pm and is typically scheduled for the last Friday of every month; standard Open Gyms run on Fridays and Saturdays; Inchworm classes meet on Mondays and Wednesdays; Parent’s Night Out sessions are 3 hours and Babies Night Out is 2 hours
• Price: An annual membership fee of $40 per family is due with the first enrolled class tuition and on its anniversary, and is required to purchase Punch Passes for Inchworm classes and Open Gym; birthday parties start at $295 for 1–10 guests with one coach and $335 for 11–20 guests with two coaches, with higher non-member pricing and optional extra play time at $30 per 15 minutes

Junebug’s Gym is led by June (Junebug) Ralston. The mission of Junebug’s Gym is to create a place where children can experience a fun-filled adventure in movement, with staff who are described as caring, respectful, and supportive, and who encourage growth of large motor skills and gymnastics along with social, emotional, and cognitive development. The stated goals include helping every child feel control and empowerment in their bodies, building self-esteem through success, opening up imaginations, and supporting confidence and joy in exploration of movement. Junebug’s Gym provides gymnastics and fitness for children in Santa Cruz and surrounding areas.
