Laird’s Academy of Martial Arts

Laird’s Academy of Martial Arts offers a variety of activities including Martial Arts, Fitness, Ho Kuk Mu Sul, Hapkido, Judo, Tae Kwon Do, Kung Fu, Tai Chi, and Self Defence. The program provides ongoing classes with continuous enrollment and a free trial class is available.

Michael Laird, the owner of the academy, is a Master in HKMS and holds a 3rd Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do. He has 6 years of experience in Jiu Jitsu and 7 years in wrestling, and he is trained in Silat. Since 1992, he has continued to study under Master Jin. The academy is involved in the community by teaching Self Defence for Santa Cruz County Schools and SC Parks and Recreation, and is an approved contract PE instructor for many local schools. The mission of the academy is to help students improve their lifestyles by developing their body, mind, and character to the maximum of their potential.
