Santa Cruz Kids in Nature

Santa Cruz Kids in Nature is a grassroots, outdoor learning program where kids take part in hands-on exploration and play. The program blends Social Emotional Learning, Natural and Cultural History, Art, and Environmental Stewardship, and is grounded in play, creativity, and community. Programs run after school during the academic year, and themed outdoor camps are offered each summer.

• Ages: 5–11 years old
• Schedule: After-school programs during the academic year with options Monday–Friday in the mid-afternoon to 5:00 pm
• Price: Kinder + 1st Grade: Mondays 2:25–5:00 [$45], Tuesdays 2:25–5:00 [$45], Wednesdays 12:10–5:00 [$75], Thursdays 2:25–5:00 [$45], Fridays 2:25–5:00 [$45]. Fourth–fifth graders: Mondays 2:25–5:00 [$47], Tuesdays 2:25–5:00 [$47], Wednesdays 12:10–5:00 [$80], Thursdays 2:25–5:00 [$47], Fridays 2:25–5:00 [$47]. Additional schedule: Mondays 2:45–5:00 [$45], Tuesdays 2:45–5:00 [$45], Wednesdays 12:25–5:00 [$70], Thursdays 2:45–5:00 [$45], Fridays 2:45–5:00 [$45].

The program offers direct classroom pick-up for Westlake students, and community members are invited to drop off. End-of-day pick up is near the base of UCSC and occurs on a sliding time scale from 4:45–5:00. Business hours are Monday–Friday from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. Santa Cruz Kids in Nature is committed to accessibility and offers a scholarship program to help make its programs available to all families.
